An interesting arrangement here. I think the acceptable and unacceptable uses should be placed before the agreement. The section you have under acceptable use for the students reads more like the agreement text. You actually have the section for the staff labelled as statement of agreement, but it comes before any guidelines. Was this intentional?
ReplyDeleteNo it was not intentional. Will make the necessary adjustments. Thanks for your observation.
DeleteA very thorough policy. The areas of concern are addressed. It is very important that the young students understand what they are agreeing to and the language used for the Acceptable Use in the student's section is very apt. Could the Unacceptable Use and Response to Violations sections be worded similarly so that the entire section is completely student friendly?
ReplyDeleteI will make reword that section. Thank for making that suggestion.
DeleteMinda you have a very comprehensive AUP and I especially like that you have placed the signature page under each of the users of the technology.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rommel I think it is important that the signatures be done separately so that each user is clear on which section of the policy relates to them.
ReplyDeleteThe layout works. The information shared in the blog gives us a feel for the culture of the school for integration and guided exploration within the classroom with responsible supervision. There is also a sense of the school's code of ethics coming through the blog.
ReplyDeleteA good job Minda. My concern is from a legal standpoint. In the event that a violation occurs next to the student's signature is that of the parent/guardian acknowledging that he/she is aware of the policy and thus hold their child to the conditions set out.
ReplyDeleteVery thorough policy. The layout and graphics appeal to the target audience.
ReplyDeleteGood job! An excellent start to the Responses to Violations section.
